Our Trip to Utah

The kids and I flew to Utah to see my family. It was a great trip.
COLD and it snowed every other day. It was great to see it snow and for the
kids to play in it and most important to see their family.

We got to look at the beautiful Rocky Mountains all week.

We left Texas sunny and 70 degrees. What a difference!

We stayed in a hotel for a couple of nights and MacKenzie came and

We had a blast seeing my family in 2 years and my couisons 4 yrs. Way too long!

It was cold and snow but beautiful. But I have gotten used to the south and I missed

the heat. I was thrilled to walk off the plan and it's 70 degrees. I was out mowing our lawn

the next day. Funny huh! While the day before I left 30 degrees in the middle of winter.

SNOW in SOUTHEAST TEXAS!!!

Can you believe it SNOW in the south?? About 1am my neighbors texted me and told me the news we ran outside and couldn't believe it. We played and made snowmans and I woke the kids up to see it falling from the sky. Hailey has been wanting to see the snow. They only seen it on tv. Hailey has been wanting to build a snowman and make snow angels. We didn't have to go to Utah for her to do this. Oh and it's suppose to be 75 degrees by the weekend!

Halloween was an eventful day. We had the homecoming parade in town. Then
we went to a Halloween party, after we came home and hung out with our neighbors and friends.
We helped passed out candy to trick or treaters and saw the homecoming fireworks from the game.
It was a fun day.. and in the end the kids got lots of candy.

Today, Shane's Coast Guard station threw a Fall Festival party. We had a good time with the hay ride, horse-back riding, haunted house and food. Nice weather too, but a little hot for fall. We are enjoying our nights of cooler weather.

I know this might be silly but our first baby is 9 today. We got him 2 months after we got married. It's gone by so fast. He's such a great dog. He's gotten so much grey hair it's sad to see him get old but he has a young heart.

Jackson was playing and slipped and fell of the bed and hit his head and busted it open. Crazy!

We ran to emergency yesterday afternoon and spent 3 hrs waiting to be seen. Luckly I had some friends come down to sit with me. Ed & Carrie is awesome!

Shane had to teach a class a hr away so he made it there and the end of the 3hrs of waiting.

Luckly, Jackson is all good. His hair is so white so when there is blood all over it, it makes it look bad. Oh and he is so strong. He just rubbed his head not crying. But we I told him we had to go to the hosptial that's when he lost it and screamed and cried. Funny Man!

Today is our wedding anniversary. 9 Years ago we got hitched. We've been together for 10 years. Since we met on October 11 and then a year later we married on October 9th.

After 10 years and I love him more everyday and truly my best friend. The best part is we still act like newlyweds.

We are happy there was no big damage to our house. Hailey will be out of school for another week, she goes back on the 29th. So far she was been in school 9 days and will have be out 16 days from Hurricane's. Crazy huh! What a way to start the school year off.

Hi all,
We got our power back on last night at our house. There are still a lot of people without power but our house is good. We still have to boil our water but we made it home. Yeah!!
Our fence didn't make it or our swingset but our blessed home has made it through another Hurricane.

Our neighbor a across the street stayed to bear the storm and called me yesterday to tell me my house is great. No trees down and our fence is still up. We are sooo blessed. Thank you for all your wonderful prayers for us. We really appreciate it and have needed it. I am praying for strength for myself and Shane and our trails in this time.

Hurricane Ike is headed for us...

Ike is going to take a big hit on Southeast Texas. After being home for 7 days we are evacuee's again. If you look at the map we are south of Houston and east of Galveston. Pretty much a direct hit! This time we are in Baton Rouge area Shane's family. Shane is on a huge navy ship with 400 military men & women (coast guard, national guard, navy7 marchant marines) Good times for them. Not! But Thanks to them to first respond to help after the storm. God bless them!
As for me I have Aliva a little girl of Shane's friend and co-worker that need a place for her to go and be safe and my friend Carrie that went to Missouri with us last hurricane, oh and my kids & doggies!
We are really worried about Ike and what it is going to do to our home and the area. I might be a while before we can go home. There won't be power or water for a at least a few weeks.
We are trying to have a good time and laugh so we won't cry.

It's just a part of life when you live by the gulf and hurricanes!

Our trip to Branson, Missouri

The hurricane Gustav evacuee's head to Missouri. It took us 12 hours. Long but it went good.
Pretty drive through Arkansas and then the Ozark Mountain's in Missouri. WOw, very pretty.
We had a great place to stay at our timeshare. On a golf course and 4 pools. We had a good time sightseeing and hanging out. Okay we spent time on the phone with family and friends about the hurricane and how they are doing and glued to the weather channel watching the storm. Then when we can't stand it any more we did some relaxing by the pool and hanging out at the malls.

After it hit Louisiana and Mississippi it came up to us in Missouri so after seeing all the flash flooding and tornado watches on tv in Branson, we decide to get out and head to Oklahoma to Shane's grandma's. Out of the storm and closer to home. It was a long trip cuz we left late in the day and driving in the rain and plus the temperature dropped from 90 to 58.
It was great to see Caroline and Danelle in Oklahoma. Thursday was long for the kids not wanting to be in the car anymore. After 10hrs we made it home almost in tears from the long day on the road. So glad to be home and safe!!

Oh so we left Shane to work and hang out during the storm to be the first to respond. What does he do. Has a Hurricane bbq at the house with all the coast guard guys that had to stay. They decide we might lose power in the storm so lets bbq all the meat from the freezer.

We have just been issued a mandatory evacuation for us starting Sunday, 6am. So we are leaving our home and headed to Branson, Missouri. We have a timeshare there, so we going to stay up there. I tryed to get our timeshare in North Texas but there was nothing avaiable. So we'll make the drive (10 hrs). It will be fun. It's a nice resort (pools, movies, minture golf etc.).

Shane has to stay here and stay on the ship. Good luck to him and his crew. Keep us in your prayers and our family in Baton Rouge & New Orleans area.

Hailey started the 1st grade today. She was excited! It went good this morning and I didn't cry.

Hailey looked a little concerned because she was didn't know know where her crayons were so she can start her school work. No, it wasn't cold today. She just loves so wear jackets. It's like 90 today. But it's good to have in case the classroom is cold.

Jackson wanted to paint and thought it would be fun to paint his hand print then his footprint and then uhm.... a face print (what fun)

He makes a laugh all the time and drives me a little crazy at the same time. Of course Hailey wanted to join in on all the fun.

We got a lot of rain today and so the kids play in the rain and mud then paint then rain again. 3 baths and a day fill full of cleaning up. I was helping my friend with preparing food for her son's wedding reception. As I was making food for the wedding. The kids managed to get into every thing. It all went well considering.

Hailey had her Ballet class today. She loved it and has been so excited for her dance class.
She also has a Jazz & Tap class on Wednesday. She had some girls from her Preschool class (at Trinity) in the Ballet class so she was excited to know some friends in her class. She will be preforming in the Nutcracker in December at the Civic Center here in Beaumont. We are so excited, it will be a wonderful experiance for her and us.

Today we went the Kid Fest in Beaumont. It was so fun. We got to see Batman and get our picture taken with him and Garfield & Odie , Blue Clues & Smoky the Bear.

We got away for the weekend, to cool off from the heat in the water.
We had our friends Wendy & Jerremy and their kids come with us. We

The last two days we have gotten alot of rain, especially today. From the hurricane Dolly in Brownsville, TX. After the rain we went out to play. The kids got a bottle and tied a rope to it and went Ditch Fishing, the kids loved it. Jackson found a frog that we loved.
After that we went for a bike ride. Hailey got a new bike she out grew her old little bike.
Which Jackson now loves. I made the little princess bike into a cool LSU Tigers bike-cool huh!
On our bike ride we saw some roads with some flooding. It was a fun bike ride.

Hailey and Jackson had swim lessons. Hailey did awesome! well as for Jackson not so well. He throw a fit everyday that first week and everyday getting worse. So we decieded to drop the lessons and try again next year. He loves to swim but he was not into having someone he doesn't know teach him something but there is a good pic and Mr. Justin teaching him.

Hailey lost another tooth and so now her two front teeth are gone.
So cute! She was so proud. She pulled it out herself and the nurse at school gave her a little toy treasure chest to keep her tooth in for the tooth fairy.

Can you believe it.... I am 36years old now. Crazy huh! Well I don't feel it so that is what is important. For my birthday, Hailey told me that she was going to get up early that ask Shane to decorate the house for my birthday. And she did 6:30 am she was up asking to decorate the house for me. So sweet.

We went to the Lake Charles to eat seafood at the casino. It was so yummie- crawfish, alligator, crab legs, shrimp, shrimp and more shrimp. We stuffed ourselves.

It was good. The casino had a cool pool that we hung out for a little while too.

I can't believe it Jackson is 3 years old. That also means we've been in Texas and in our house for 3 years. We were in Baton Rouge, Louisiana 3 years ago when I had Jackson and Shane was moving our stuff in our house. Jackson was 3 days old when we came to Texas.

So the old saying "I wasn't born in Texas but I got here as fast as I could" is totally Jackson. haha

Hailey had her spring break. She had a good time with her friends and us. We had a Easter party at the church and got to see some bunnies in town and had the the Easter bunny came to our house. It was a fun week. Good weather too!

Hailey broke out with a rash

Hailey broke out with a rash from her antibacotic's from ear infection she had.
So sad! Her eyes were swollen and her ankels.
She's much better and back at school! Thanks to a great doctor and some great med's.

The Barado family has made it to Blogger. We are still here in Southeast Texas. It's a great little hic town. Shane is still in the Coast Guard almost 11 years. I am a stay at home Mom. I love it!
Hailey is 5 and is in Kindergarten. She loves school and all of her friends. Maybe too much. Miss Social! She is always getting in trouble for talking too much with her friends. I wonder where she got that. Haha.
Jackson is 2, almost 3 years old. He is talking so much and understand so much. Mr. Observant and all boy. Well except when we wants to play with Hailey's stuff. Well she is his best friend.
We have two dogs (chocolate labs) Chessy and Buster Brown. Chessy is 8 years old and Mr. Emotional. We need to find some Doggie Prozaic. Haha. But he is a awesome dog. Buster is 1 years old is a good dog. Loves to cluddle and run wild in the back yard. Good thing it's a good size yard.
